Teaching assignments for G3s and beyond has been one of the main topics of discussion the past few years. One outcome of these discussions was a “Teaching Best Practices and Recommendations” document, to be sent out to all faculty and grad students every semester. It outlines common expectations that all grad students and faculty should be aware of.

The Henry Adams Society, the former name of the HGSA, also voted to endorse the efforts of the Harvard Teaching Campaign, a campaign devoted to improving teaching quality at Harvard by limiting the number of students per discussion section.

The graduate resources page has additional information on teaching, and we’re working to make these resources more centralized and manageable!

Do you have thoughts or experiences to share about teaching as a graduate student? Please share them with your HGSA reps!
